Regeneration
NTR Planning secured planning permission for a major mixed-use urban regeneration scheme on behalf of joint applicants U+I and the University of Brighton. This complex EIA scheme, designed by Studio Egret West and HASSELL Architects, will establish a brand new state-of-the-art facility for the University as well as delivering significant social and economic regeneration, acting as a catalyst for change within the Moulsecoomb area of Brighton. The development principally consists of 1,338 student bed spaces, 369 residential units, a new academic and Business School for the University, a multi-storey car park and a ‘Central Research Laboratory’ to foster the development of employment opportunities within the City through start-up and creative companies
NTR Planning secured detailed planning permission for a major urban regeneration scheme within Bromley town centre on behalf of Cathedral Group (now U+I). This mixed use development includes a 19 storey residential building containing 200 apartments, a 9 screen multiplex cinema, 130 bedroom hotel and restaurant units set within a new central public space. This project, now under construction, is set to be the catalyst for wider regeneration of Bromley town centre.
NTR Planning secured planning permission on behalf of Cathedral Group (now U+I) for an innovative, mixed use development scheme in Canning Town. The scheme consists of 2,637 sq.m of employment floorspace at ground floor level, with 336 residential flats above. The employment strategy centres upon a new ‘creative industries hub’ for the Docklands, forming a focus for generating light industrial activity on site. The scheme, designed by Studio Egret West, placed strong emphasis on high quality design to help support the case for tall buildings. The scheme is currently being constructed by Galliard Homes, with U+I retaining control and curation of the employment and commercial floorspace at ground level to enable the creation of a strong place-making identity.
NTR Planning secured outline planning permission for a mixed use proposal consisting of new cinema and restaurant units within Eltham Town Centre in April 2014 on behalf of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. In a bold and proactive move by the Council, it sought to draw this significant regeneration catalyst into the town centre as part of the wider delivery of the Eltham Town Centre Masterplan.
